Traffic Stop Leads to Drugs and Weapon Charges- Dangela Doolittle & Brandon Hill

On 10/5/2018 Deputy Justin Jones was on Patrol in the City of Hughes when he observed a vehicle and the driver attempted to elude the deputy by turning off the vehicle lights while going down the road. The vehicle was stopped near the Meadow Apartments where Deputy Jones contacted the occupants of the vehicle.
There was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a search uncovered 13.8 grams of cocaine, a 9mm pistol, marijuana, Valium, and approximately $2500 in cash.
25 year old Brandon Hill and 26 year old Dangela Doolittle both from Hughes were charged with multiple felony drug charges as well as Simultaneous Possession of Firearms and Drugs a Class Y Felony in the state of Arkansas. A conviction for a Class Y felony can result in a prison term of 10 to 40 years or life.
Both suspects were taken to the St Francis County Jail until being arraigned this past Monday (10/8/18) and a bond of $20,000 being set by the judge.
They have since been released after being bonded out by a professional bail bonding company.
"We would like to commend Deputy Jones for his efforts in arresting these suspects in the city of Hughes," commented Sheriff Bobby May. "We are constantly on the lookout for those involved in the drug business and are glad these two were apprehended"
