One Fatality Attributed to Early Morning Storm in St. Francis County

This morning, April 15, 2011, at approximately 4:00 a.m., a line of strong east bound thunderstorms moved through St. Francis County . What has been described as a "super burst" of straight line winds destroyed a home  belonging to Jesse and Laredelah Anderson at 1846 SFC 267, Colt, Arkansas. The doublewide mobile home was lifted from its foundation and tossed approximately 75 feet, coming to rest on its roof and totally demolishing the home and trapping both Mr. and Mrs. Anderson inside the dwelling.

At approximately, 6:00 a.m., the Sheriff's Department received a call describing the tragic scene.  It was said that it looked like an explosion. Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched, along with emergency crews to the scene of the devastation.  When responders arrived, Mrs. Anderson was declared deceased at the scene. Mr. Anderson was transported to The Med in Memphis and is listed in critical condition at this time.

No other damage has been reported in the aftermath of the storm other than a few uprooted trees.
