Deonta Brown, 20-years-old of Forrest City, Ar. has been arrested without incident for the shooting that occurred back in July 2023.  Investigators responded to Highway-70 just east of Palestine, Ar. for a gunshot victim, identified as Tracey Partain who was shot in the chest and later airlifted to Regional One Trauma in Memphis, Tn.  At the time both Partain and his girlfriend identified Brown as the shooter.  Investigators were able to determine the shooting happened at the Alcott Manor Apartments, across from the Palestine Elementary School.  Investigators recovered evidence of the shooting at the apartment complex.  Brown was reportedly a passenger in a vehicle when they pulled into the parking lot where Partain was parked.  Brown then got out and walked up to the car and shot him once through the windshield.  Partain the sped off in the car and eventually stopped there on Highway 70 just outside of Palestine.  At the time a small child was sitting in the backseat of the car Partain was in but neither the female passenger nor the small child was injured.  Brown is charged with Battery 1st Degree, Aggravated Assault-2 counts, a Class D Felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, also a Class D Felony.  Brown is scheduled to be arraigned today in St. Francis County District Court where a bond will be set.
