Detention & Dispatch
St. Francis County Detention and Dispatch Center is located at 2124 South Washington in Forrest City, Arkansas. The Jail is under the supervision of Capt. Gage Melton, Jail Administrator.
Our detention center is a long term holding facility. It was designed to house 120 inmates. The jail can house 8 females, 6 felony juvenile males as well as 100 adult males.We hold Arkansas State prison inmates that are waiting on bed space, as well as Federal Inmates waiting extradition to different states.
Our Detention facility participates in a work release program, which allows misdemeanor charged inmates, to work off their fines by cleaning roadways in the county. We are one of only twenty-three locations statewide to have the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System). Our booking system is connected to the V.I.N.E. program.
The jail and dispatch are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our dispatch center handles law enforcement and 911, traffic for the following counties: St. Francis County, Fire and Rescue Palestine Police, Fire and Rescue, Colt Police, Fire and Rescue,Madison Police, Fire and Rescue, Wheatley Police, Fire and Rescue, Hughes Police, Fire and Rescue as well as all other areas.

Juveniles: 9:15 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. |
Males: 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. |
Males: 1:00- 3:00 p.m. |
DOC Inmates: 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Inmates that have been sentenced to the DOC) |
