911

The phase of implementing 911 service began in 1991. In 1992 the enhanced 911 was active. 911 operations began with Phase I and after a few years it has been updated to Phase II.

Phase II allows equipment allowing with a computerized mapping system to pin point an exact location of a landline telephone or a cellphone. This means that if anyone is unaware of their location they can call 911, an through this technology we are able to locate them.

Currently there are two 911 systems within St. Francis County. One is located at the St. Francis County Jail and the other is located at the Forrest City Police Department. Calls within the city limits of Forrest City will be directed to the Forrest City Police department and all calls in the county will be directed to the St. Francis County Jail.

If there is an emergency please dial 911 or 633-2611
